About A.B.S.A.R. Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR) is a voluntary organization dedicated to saving lives in Antigua and Barbuda and the surrounding waters. ABSAR provides search and rescue, emergency medical, fire and ambulance response 24-hours a day 365 days of the year. ABSAR works in close co-operation with the Antiguan Coast Guard, fire and ambulance services. Our volunteers come from a verity of backgrounds, and all undergo training in seamanship and small

boat-handling skills, search and rescue techniques and first aid. They all give up their own time to train and answer distress calls with nothing in return except for satisfaction in knowing that they are saving lives.
