Once you’ve sent in your volunteer form, your next stop is our Volunteer Orientation, held every Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the ABSAR medic station in Falmouth Harbour. This is a straightforward briefing where you’ll meet part of the team, learn how we operate, and get a clear sense of where your skills and time fit best.

What You Can Expect as a Volunteer

This is a lengthier training process estimated around 10 sessions depending on your experience. If you live here year round and would like to be a full part of the team this is the one for you.

This is aimed toward Yacht Crew, People here for an extended stay, or anyone comes in with an existing skill that we can put to work. The sign off period is

We respond to marine fires in support of the coast guard or fire department. This is aimed towards anyone with a firefighting background, or marine firefighting courses.

This is one of our newest teams, and falls into the same Auxiliary amount of training hours. With so many hikers on the trails and beaches we assist or coordinate missing persons searches when requested. When someone is hurt on a trail, we can organize patient packaging and transport to the nearest ambulance pickup point.

If you like to be part of our medical responders there are several ways to do that. The first will be spending some time with us at the medic station for an orientation and assessment before sending you out in the field.
